On March 3rd 2011 I ventured down to Pioneer Square for the First Thursday art walk. It was my first time ever going to a First Thursday art walk event since living in Seattle. Though I only went to two places that night I was pretty blown away by the wide variety of art that was on display. My first stop was at the Electric Coffin on 1st Ave by the stadiums. There they had 50 miniature coffins painted by 50 different artist. Each coffin had a distinctive look and I wish I could of took pictures of all of them because they were all equally awesome. My second stop was the Seattle Art Building located on Western. This place was amazing! It is six stories of artist lofts opened to the public and the variety of art was greater than 31 flavors x 1000. I was pretty much on art overload from all the different paintings, sculptures, photography, etc. etc. And this place was packed like sardines, traveling from floor to floor became kind of challenging since there was only a old wood spiral stair case to travel on from floor to floor. Im definitely planning on going to the next First Thursday Art Walk and I hope I get to see more of what this event has to offer.
